When every single city in the world that respects its food culture opens joints around the latest food trends (read sushi, ceviche and the likes), Lisbon keeps it simple. Tartine, a bakery transformed to a healthy and tasty breakfast/brunch place.

Hidden in a small street around Chiado, the city’s gentrified hood, Tartine caters to locals and travelers alike good quality bread. Behind the bakery front, if you take the stairs up to the mezzanine floor you’ll discover a more zen and cosy space designed entirely by wood where the food treats are being served.

Very friendly service with an honest menu featuring all the good ol’ eggs classics, Tartine offers one of the best breakfast/brunch options in the city. Try the yoghurt granola and the juice of the day (check out the cranberries special below) if you wanna go healthy, or opt for the more classic English breakfast.

Finally, if you can’t make breakfast they also serve lunch and (guess what…) tartines.
